Michio Kaku Warns of 2012 Solar Storm

April 22, 2009

Dr. Michio Kaku was recently on Fox News providing information regarding the possibility of solar storm at the peak of the solar cycle in 2012, and the serious consequences…

“We made a mistake,” Dr. Kaku said, when speaking about industry calculations about solar flares. Kaku believes the cycle will peak around 2012, possibly playing havoc with Earthling gadgets like Blackberries.

The Internet, Fox, television, cable, satellite TV” could all get “wiped out around 2012″.

He goes on to suggest that we need to reinforce our satellites, and create redundant power systems. President Obama has already earmarked billions to be spent on the US power grid, but it remains to be seen if it could be completed (or even begun) prior to 2012.

Fox reported on the concept back in December. Prior to that, Dr. Kaku was interviewed by the Daily Grail. Here’s the Fox News video:

Dr. Michio Kaku is very respected and should be taken at his word.
he is not one of the end timers or speaking of the crap about nibiru and other 2012 nonsense
that is so flooding the youtube scene. So what does this all mean .. communication via satelight
might be interupted as well as possibly GPS .Depending on the severity is could be more.
for thouse in there 30 and 40s you might remeber the last peak of last big solar cycle from the 80's
where here in florida we could watch the aroura borielis every afternoon.biggest difference is in the 80's we didnt depend on the communication technology as we do today.

We can laugh about it once we get to Heaven

That to me is exactly what will happen. Not the end of the world predictions. I believe we will have a backup just like we did for the year 2,000. The sun does this every 11 years I think. So it doesn't oppose a threat, just a possibility that we may lose all power and satalite devices we depend so much on. I only worry at this point because I wonder how we will create new satalites and get ready to launch them without power. We need to start planning now.

I agree…..but this ..i suppose is supost to me the most devistating solar storm we have ever seen. And he said so himself people make mistakes in calculating how sumthings are going to happen excactly. ex.. hurricane Katrina, they did not know were it was going to hit the first time they noticed it. so my point is..as he said pepare for the worst.and for everyone who belives in god doesinit say in the Holy Bible that know one could predict the end…………..

ok so what if we get to Dec. 24 or 31 2012 and nothing happens is it going to be another Y2K? what if you know… so many thoughts go through peoples minds about what IF… WHAT IF..

The fact is that the 2012 prophecy is derived from the wisdom of the Maya people of Central America. Not too many folks are actually consulting them at all. Instead most of the Apocalyptic nonsense that is rampant in contemporary media concerning 2012 comes mostly from a variety of wingnuts who have absolutely no business even talking about the subject. They know no May person personally. They have never travelled to Central america and they do not trully nderstand the fundamental mechanics of the maya Calendar. It is true that there are a number of extraordinary natural phenomenon events that are expected for the year 2012. None of them are absolutelly inevitable, and there is nothin in the Maya prophetic tradition that marks 2012 as an end-time for the human species, simply a time of transition. I believe that Dr Kaku is accurate in his prediction but neither this nor any other legitimate prediction raises any specter of world-wide mass extinction as some love to predict.

I have an issue with everyone who says "the mayans were so advanced". They sacrificed people to make the sun rise and were possibly the bloodiest religionists in history.

  12. gottliebe on November 29th, 2009 2:28 am

    Miguel Sague…I agree.

I think people need to be a little more rational and quit relying on news propaganda for their facts. We all have Therories and I think Dr. Kaku is a good theorist and should be recognized for his talents. We don't know any Mayans and would'nt believe them if they were in our face telling us the truth. Most of us are scarred of the truth. I believe the truth is we are in danger and very soon. All predictions point to a time, but we really don't know the exact time.I say the time is now! Time to start preparing for our future. Personally. We can't stop what we cannot control and we're in a pretty big universe that we as the human race believes we're in controle of. What about God? Maybe we should start there. Here in our own minds, hearts, and homes. Remember… we are what we think. We think destruction all the time and thats what were doing all around us and in our environment. one person, one thought , one action, one belief can make a difference.think possitive and lets work together for a better difference reguardless of the outcome.

Very few people are making the connection between 2012 and the new World Order. So many distractions and not enough pragmatic realism, I guess. 2012 is the perfect scenario for the NWO to implement its most advanced offensive to date. All the prophecies, predictions and end-time speculation present the ideal opportunity to create a problem for which they will supply a solution. Remember the words of Rahm Emanuel on the eve of the so-called financial collapse: "we can't let a good crises go to waste." They are going to put into motion a manufactured crises of epic proportions which will rapidly usher in their plans for total domination, including dictatorial power, a mass die-off, a new global currency, and much more. The method to their madness? It lies in this article, my friends: a solar storm. That's right. Would the repercussions of such a massive solar storm throw the world into the kind of state of emergency tailor made for the NWO agenda? There's no doubt. What if no real solar storm occurs, you say? It doesn't matter, they will simply "stage" it just like they did September 11th. Mark my words, this is the first time I have shared this with anyone: the power grid will be sabotaged and it will be an inside job. Once the grid goes off all hell will break loose. By the time the grid goes back on it will be a completely different world. I'll leave you to extrapolate and fill in the blanks. To reiterate: if it is ever explained at all it will be called a "failure of technology by invisible cosmic causes." No one will ever be able to say that the sun didn't do it. It's that simple. This planned calamity will usher in an age of fully-matrixed cybercivilization and with it a one-world oligarchy, the drastic reduction of population, a new surveillance monetary system, and much more, all of which will completely redefine humanity as we know it. Our best hope? Turn off the power before the power goes out. Get off the grid before it's too late. We must power down if we are to be empowered. Unplug or die.

I hope the solar storm in question targets only those who have atrocious writing skills, as well as, those who apparently never completed a grade school spelling curriculum. It's truly sad that you people are the future (if there is one beyond 2012) of our world. Where has our intellectual pride gone?

  16. marina choi on May 4th, 2010 3:45 am

2012 is not real and its all fake. Planet x, adn all other stuff is fake. There no evidence. Solar Storms allways hit earth adn it dosent do anything to humans.

It hit earth in 2003 and 2012 wont be bad.

To compare Y2K with 2012 is like comparing a bottle rocket to the space shuttle. While the hysteria may have been comparable, that's where the similarities end. Comparing the lack of foresight of a bunch of computer nerds to a cyclical event of nature is not only blind, it's dangerous. While Y2K would have been no more than an inconvenience, natural disasters are just that, disasters. Y2K was a huge boost to the computer industry from panicked companies buying new systems. No amount of buying will save anyone from Mother Nature.

you need to learn to spell before your opinion counts, dummy.

  24. dave jaklin on January 13th, 2011 5:01 am

why is it that the religious zealots are allways so dumb that they can barely spell at the first grade level. go ahead and pray, it changes nothing, morons.

hopefully 2012 and the nwo will eliminate everyone with an IQ below 100 which will leave only a few thousand of us. happy times!

  27. solarstormwarning on January 18th, 2011 10:49 pm

yea its fake except that a mass coronal ejection would cause a mass die off of humans, plants, and animals from exposure to high levels of solar RADIATION and the difference between 2003 and now is the magnetic field around the earth (which blocks us from solar radiation) is dissipating that leaves us open to solar radiation the time to prepare is now

  28. Bizarre on March 11th, 2011 10:41 am

Thom, Charlie-brainless Especially this Dave Jaklin dummy, I doubt your IQ is more than a lab rat, first off, Always is with one (won) L (Elle) also, please capitalize Each word at the beginning of Each sentence. You will learn that once you finish grade school. Patrick don’t spend too much time on the thesaurus looking for big words we know your smart because you criticize “Us people” meaning the future of this world… Sorry we are not up to your standards, wait… What did you contribute to our civilization again? Oh, that’s right, Nothing but an idiotic comment. I hope you feel good about yourself. Everyone else good theories!
