Roland Emmerich’s 2012 movie is using viral tactics to get the public excited 8 months prior to its release. The site states “The odds of global destruction in 2012 have been confirmed at 94%. Specific preparations are being made to ensure the survival of a small population”, and invites you to register for a Lottery Number.

Presumably there is more to come (nothing happens when you register, except for being given a registration number), so keep an eye on this site.

2012 The Movie – First Trailer

The official release date for 2012 is July 10, 2009, for the USA, Canada, UK and most of the world. The first trailer has just been released, consisting of a single scene running less than a minute. The scale of the tsunami is bound to receive comments in the blogosphere. This image is a still from it, and those waves are seemingly crashing over the Himalayas!

2012 Show in London

2012 is the title of a new show by performance artist Bill Aitchison. Running at the Apocryphal Festival in London next week, it covers such topics as “conspiracy theories, ranging from the War on Terror and the CIA funding art to the end of the world in 2012 and Saddam Hussein’s novels.”
