A new viral promotion for the upcoming 2012 feature film has one of the characters, Charlie Frost (played by Woody Harrelson) telling us all about the apocalypse via YouTube videos, and posts that link to real, potentially 2012-related news items.
The humorous cartoon made by the Frost character is at the opposite end of the spectrum of seriousness from the IHC site.

The website for the Institute for Human Continuity (http://instituteforhumancontinuity.org) has been greatly expanded, and Sony have ramped up the advertising. Here is a sample of what you can find there:
- Three factors will combine to end the world as we know it; crustal displacement, solar activity & Planet X.
- The IHC has been purchasing missile silos worldwide, for converting into bunkers
- Seven space colonies will be ready for launch by March 2012
- A fifth Mayan codex has been discovered
Although the site might help the masses understand what the year 2012 is all about, the purpose is to promote 2012 the movie.
2012er Charged with Explosives Theft

According to Federal Court documents, a 22-year-old arrested on Thursday night was preparing for the “end of the world” in 2012. Ryan D. Webster, a grocery store worker, has been charged with possessing stolen explosives.
The 13 C-4 blocks were stolen from St. Charles County Law Enforcement Training Center in Missouri, where they were to be used by the FBI and local bomb squad for training purposes.
There has been no indication of why Webster needed the explosives. He reappears in court on Monday. Full story at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
