Symposium: Maya Calendars and Creation
January 31, 2009
Showing impeccable timing, considering all of the sensationalist coverage of 2012 recently, is next week’s Sixth Annual Tulane Maya Symposium. Held at Tulane University in New Orleans it features many academic researchers including Anthony Aveni & Barbara and Dennis Tedlock. Hopefully some of the presentations, such as Ends of Time: The Maya Mystery of Creation 2012 will be made available to those unable to make the conference. Read more here.

Got something to say?

I had premonitions through dreams back in 1999. They lasted three months and were very realistic. The smells, the tastes, the intense heat from lava… Horrifying global catastrophe occurred in these dreams. Famine, death, and destruction. Starvation, fires, lava flow of unknown amounts, earthquakes, volcanoes, tropical storms in parts of the world where there was no water. Floods took out most bridges and homes, followed with explosions of fuel sources destruction of mankind as we know it.
I dismissed the dreams many years later. I have had dreams that come true…frequently. I just hope these dreams where I would fall asleep at night just to pick up where I left off the night before to be witness to these horrible disasters DO NOT.
pffffffffffft get a life!
I have had visions of 2012 as well. I believe that in that day we will witness a strength of animals. In that day, the animals will reestabilish thier rightful place as the ordained stewards of the earth. In my vision, fury will fall on those who have dominated the animal kingdom. __How do we prepare for this? In my vision, we must prepare with the fruit and vegetable of the earth. Truth.
Two weeks before Katrina my sister came to my home to visit myself and my 2 Granddaughters. She told us, "I had an awful dream the other night", "can't seem to shake it". So I asked her what was it. She said, "New Orleans was under water, it was awful" (Now 2 weeks before who would have ever believed that New Orleans would EVER be under water) I asked her"How do you know it was New Orleans? Because all the caskets were floating out of the cemeteries. It was so terrible. 2 weeks later I reminded her of the dream. She didn't even remember telling us. I believe sometimes people can have dreams of the future. I would like to hope you have it wrong but I don't think that is the case. I'm afraid it will come to pass. Sorry for the Unbelievers
I am not a skeptic, and I do think that we will see some major changes in my lifetime, but basing future predictions on dreams is kind of silly. Our dreams are products of the world around us, not the other way around. So if you stay up all night reading things about 2012 on the net, there is a good chance that you will go to bed thinking about it, hence your dream, I agree get a life. Quote facts not dreams
Pretty much we (people) will be the end of ourselves. This is a repeated theme through history. Once a governing body loses its power and people start taking action, we are pretty screwed. I get a lot of dreams that come true as well but realistically we can't let this run our lives. Changes can always be made. In any case I still believe we are our own destructive force.

Believe it or NOT, most of the time I don't remember my dreams. It seemed the only one I remembered the most were dreams about my first girl friend – my first love of my life. I don't know why after all these years (18+ years), she's still in my dreams. I am not complaining, in fact each time I dreamed of her, it makes me happy all day.
For other 22 girls I've been with… not a single dream that I can remember! Prrrrrtttttttt
