On February 12-13 2010 at Zayed University in Dubai is a very interesting conference (topic: The Origins of Civilisations) for fans of authors who are related to the 2012 meme. Speakers include John Major Jenkins, Andrew Collins, Michael Cremo, Robert Schoch, Robert Bauval, Christopher Knight and Graham Hancock.
Conference cost for the two days is a mere $US115, or pay the VIP price of $US330 to sit in the front rows, and have dinner with the speakers.
A Dec 2012 Event

Hopefully the first of many, an event has been announced for the week leading up to Dec 21 2012. Organized by The World United, it will be called the 1st World Parliament on Spiritual Science, and held in Hyderabad, India.
Board members for this organization include Janet Attwod (one of the people behind the successful DVD The Secret), Debra Poneman (author of Chicken Soup for the American Idol Soul) and several famous spiritual teachers from India.

Brown Daily Herald (a university newspaper) reports this week on 2012 predictions.
Patrick Geryl (pictured) says that the South African Kingdom of Lesotho is the safest place to be, when the world comes to a “volcano-erupting, tidal-wave-crashing, nuclear-reactor-melting end.”
One of the world’s leading experts on the Mayan civilization, Professor Stephen Houston, says that just one of many Mayan cycles will end in 2012, and “that the end is neither significant nor relevant.”
