2012 Calendar by Campari

October 31, 2011

[We'll have another 2012 calendar for you tomorrow...]

The star of the 2012 Campari calendar is actress Milla Jovovich. She is no stranger to apocalyptic themes (The Fifth Element, Resident Evil), so it is fitting that this calendar is titled: IT’S THE END OF THE WORLD, BABY!

Above is the June pic from the calendar, the rest can be seen at Celebs.com

Comedian Bill Bailey on 2012 & Trampolines

September 23, 2011

British comedian Bill Bailey (of Black Books fame) has created a short video, filmed in his bunker, in which he discusses the effects on animals of a geomagnetic pole reversal, and why this possibility is causing a lot of trampolines to be sold:

Reform Clothing Join the Bandwagon

September 17, 2011

The clothes don’t look even remotely survivalist. Seems all they have done is added the number 2012 to an existing design. The video seems to show a fella being chased by the boogie man (or is a ninja?). The name of the campaign: Survive 2012. I should’ve copyrighted it ten years ago :(

Here’s the video:

Movie Updates: X-Files and 4:44 Last Day on Earth

September 16, 2011

First up is a real doomsday movie starring Willem Dafoe and Shanyn Leigh, and directed by Abel Ferrara of Bad Lieutenant infamy. Like the recent Lars von Trier film, Melancholia, the focus is on the last hours of humanity, and how people react to their coming demise. in 4:44 Last Day on Earth, less attention is paid to the cause of the apocalypse (they allude to a hole in the ozone layer, and Al Gore makes an appearance), as it is ultimately irrelevant to the story. Given that nobody really knows what will occur in 2012, the story is familiar and rings true:

Everybody knows the final hour is coming, even though some don’t believe it. Snippets of routine continue, with some odd context twists, like when Dafoe’s character, Cisco, gives several hundred dollars to a Chinese food delivery man, since money now means nothing, and lends his computer so the man can briefly Skype his family in China.

Meanwhile Gillian Anderson is hopeful that 3rd X-Files movie will be made and released to coincide with the Dec 21 2012 end-date that featured prominently in the TV series:

“I hope it will happen, there’s talk of it. I don’t know who’s writing it but I hear there’s something going on.”

Pink Visual Release Bunker Design

September 11, 2011

April Fools Day is quite a long way off, but still take this with a pinch of salt. The plans show they they intend to have guns, beverages, co-ed showers and private fertility chambers:

(Click on the image to see a larger version)

Boyer said that the company is still “actively and vigorously debating” the selection criteria for all non-Pink Visual personnel who will take refuge in the bunker, adding that the selection process will “likely include both merit-based and random selections, with Pink Visual performers, active site members and twitter followers getting priority over the general public.”

They have a casting couch within the bunker, so I’m wondering if that is an euphemism? Or perhaps pre-SHTF they will “audition” for bunker buddies?

2012 Secrets Revealed by Mexican Authorities

September 9, 2011

“The Mayans used to construct one pyramid over another,” tourism minister for the Mexican state of Campeche Luis Augusto Garcia Rosado told TheWrap. “In the site at Calakmul (pictured below right), workers for INAH [the National Institute of Anthropology and History] have discovered rooms inside the pyramid that have never been seen or explored before.

And we’re letting this documentary film there, to see what has been discovered inside the pyramid. ”

And so the documentary produced by Raul Julia-Levy (son of actor Raul Julia), Revelations of the Mayans 2012 and Beyond, will show us these previously unexplored rooms. Previously he was creating a fictional feature film about the ancient Maya, but that has been placed on hold while the star, Wesley Snipes, is behind bars.

“This is very important for humanity, not just for Mexico,” said Julia-Levy. “This information has been protected for 80 years, and now it’s important for people to understand the series of events that are coming, and the consequences for all of us.”

It had to happen… 2012 Porn

August 29, 2011

This press release is for an adult movie that is about to be filmed. The scenario is basically this: the world is about to end (in 2012), and with little time left, the cast decide to fornicate (presumably).

The Mayans predicted that the end of the world would befall us in the year 2012, but what would happen if Armageddon were to arrive ahead of schedule? What would you do if you found out you only had five days to live?

…As The Countdown unfolds, we learn that a group of fringe astronomers have been monitoring a rogue asteroid. They’ve discovered that “Vesta” (the 2nd largest asteroid in the solar system) has fallen out of its regular orbit due to a collision with several other objects in space. It’s the size of Arizona and weighs 300,000 metric tons. And it’s hurtling towards earth at approximately 220,000 miles per hour. Should it reach our planet, life as we know it will end.

With this fascinating concept in place, the film’s compelling story follows several groups of people as they spend their final days preparing for the inevitable. From the President and his Cabinet to the everyday man on the street, everyone prepares for “The End” in different ways. Some with courage, some with fear, and others with unexpected humor.

Kaylani Lei is one of the stars.
